Westminster assisted suicide bill update for GPs – still time to change the outcome

Concerned about the risks of the Westminster assisted suicide bill to patients and health services?

Your concerns are well-founded. The safeguards promised by Kim Leadbeater the Bill’s sponsor were significantly weakened by the rushed Westminster committee process January-March 2025. The current version of the Bill to be debated again on 13th and 20th June would change the NHS constitution and open the door to fully funded physician-assisted suicide at a time when many of our patients struggle to access the care and support they need to live well with life-limiting conditions.

The more that people understand about the details of this Bill, and the well-founded concerns of health professionals, the less likely they are to support it, even if they do not oppose the idea of assisted suicide in principle.

This webinar will equip you with the knowledge you need to understand the impacts of this Bill on primary care and equip you to help block the Bill’s progress in the House of Commons (where a vote is most likely to take place on 20th June).

There is still time to make a difference.
